I’ve been thinking about using Plastidip on that bike frame instead of paint. What should I know about it? What do I need to start? Have any of you had experience with it?

Shake well, do a light coat first, full coat second.

Clean it really well.
No scuff needed for prep.
2 light coats 10 mins apart.
10 mins later 2 more medium coats 10 mins apart. Dont do so outside if it’s too humid out.

Apply it much like spraypaint, some colors change dramatically as you add coats. While not an issue for most people this time of year it does respond to ambient temperature if you want a smooth finish it will be something you have to consider.

For the love of Jesus make sure you apply it thick enough. Peeling too-thin plastidip off is the biggest PITA. Both the roof and wheels on my M3 were incorrectly done and I ended up having to take it off with goo-gone and a soft plastic scraper.
It also doesn’t hold up as well as paint, so keep that in mind.

Y plastidip over spray paint? I’d take all the cables off first. Take the wheels off, handle bar grips

Good luck. Putting my 1 line back was a PITA
